Please join us for the next installment of our Wise Women Series with one of the most talented porcelain potters working today, artist Lorna Meaden! Over the course of this action-packed two day workshop, Lorna will demonstrate a number of her exquisite thrown and altered porcelain forms (watering cans! spoons!), her slip inlay process and share some soda firing tips and techniques.  This is a workshop you won't want to miss!

"Functional pottery, in its connection to sustenance, closely relates to the human body, revealing what it means to be human. Handmade pots are potent in their power to reveal the extraordinary, within the ordinary. I am driven by the insatiable pursuit of the “good pot”. Successful in terms of tactile, visual, and functional attributes; lastingly significant when packed with the passion of the maker- reflecting humanity, and contributing to the craft." - Lorna Meaden

Lorna Meaden is currently a studio potter in Durango, Colorado, as well as Adjunct Professor of Art at Fort Lewis College. She received a BA from Fort Lewis College and an MFA in ceramics from Ohio University. She has recently been a resident artist at the Archie Bray Foundation and at the Anderson Ranch Arts Center. She was featured as a demonstrator and lecturer at NCECA, as well as Utilitarian Clay V: Celebrate the Object. Her work is represented by several national galleries.
